Community Event: A Conversation About Parenting
Quite a few people have discussed with us how having a restorative view of God’s justice helps them be better parents. Let’s come together and talk about it. There are no silver bullets. But there are practices, rooted in our character and connection with Jesus, that help us create a culture of positive presence and hopeful growth and accountability at home.
We had a wonderful conversation on August 19th, 2025. This next conversation will feature Candice Gormley sharing about her experience using The Wheel of Emotions to help her children name their emotions. Candice will also share a bit about discipling kids towards Jesus — both her own kids and those in her church’s kids program.

Community Event: Restorative Justice in Schools
Wondering how to serve your community as a thoughtful follower of Jesus?
On Thursday, November 21st at 8pm Eastern, we will host a Zoom conversation about Pitching Restorative Justice to Schools. Our guest will be Pastor Dishon Mills, who formerly worked for Boston Public Schools as a Senior Manager. From 2006 - 10, Dishon led Out of Harm’s Way, a restorative justice pilot program at 5 BPS middle schools which saw remarkable results in social-emotional learning.
Boston Public Schools started implementing restorative justice practices in 2017. BPS has begun to shift away from punitive measures like suspensions and expulsions, which disproportionately affected students of color, and towards approaches that focus on repairing harm, fostering accountability, and rebuilding relationships.
Come chat with Dishon about what restorative justice practices are like in schools. How do students and staff experience it? What are the results? Can a teacher do this in a classroom? How can a school train its staff?
