Lamentations

Bible Studies, Messages, Papers

Lamentations was written, according to tradition by the prophet Jeremiah, after the fall of Jerusalem in 586 BC when Babylon took Israel captive.  The walls of the city and the temple were torn down, and had to be rebuilt.  The western wall of the temple (pictured) is called the Wailing Wall of Jerusalem, and is a holy site of prayer.  Picture credit:  Creative Commons Zero.
